What is ChatGPT?
ChatGPT is an AI chatbot that uses natural language processing and machine learning to generate conversations based on user input. It is based on OpenAI's GPT-3 model and can be used to create automated conversations for websites and applications.
As a result, it can be integrated to lots of different sites and applications. Now the plugin CM Answers can provide automatically generated answers to questions in certain categories.
How to Enable ChatGPT Integration?
In general plugin settings you need to do the following:
- Enable the feature.
- Enter Chat GPT API Key. The key can be obtained at OpenAI site.
- Choose one or more categories where questions will be automatically answered by ChatGPT.
- Specify a display name of the ChatGPT user. When ChatGPT option is enabled, the plugin creates a user which will post answers.
- Specify the prompt template of requests which will be sent to ChatGPT in order to get answers. It must contain both or one of the placeholders {question_title} and {question_body}.
- Specify the maximum length of the answer which can be received from ChatGPT. It uses tokens for processing.

How Does It Work?
ChatGPT processes text using tokens.
Tokens are pieces of words used for natural language processing.
For English text, 1 token equals about 4 characters or 0.75 words.
Every time the plugin request an answer to a question, it spends tokens which are paid.
When you register your account, OpenAI gives a start credit which you can spend.
When your credit is run out, you can pay to continue using the service.

ChatGPT integration is supported since the version 4.7.1 of the WordPress Question and Answer plugin.
CM Ask the Expert Add-On + ChatGPT Integration
The add-on allows to build a Q and A forum with an Ask the Expert system. Ask the Expert supports adding multiple experts and assigning them to an unlimited number of Q and A forum categories. Each expert can be assigned to more than one category, and each category can host several experts.
The add-on also supports integration with ChatGPT. This way, you can assign a user created for ChatGPT answers as an expert to any category. And when the user chooses this expert while posting the question, he will receive an automatically generated answer to his question.
How To Enable It?
Enabling the feature for the add-on is quite easy. When the ChatGPT integration is already configured in the base plugin settings, you just need to turn on one more option for the add-on:
